A metal hose consists of a core of stainless steel corrugated pipe wrapped in a flexible stainless steel braid. The corrugated pipe makes the hose flexible, the braid makes it pressure-resistant.

The butyl armoured hose type Lambada is oxygen diffusion-tight according to DIN 4726. The EPDM armoured hose type Rumba is not oxygen diffusion-tight.
